CYM Sports Operations Coordinator

This on-site position is located in Wilmington, Delaware, and will work to fulfill the mission of the Office for Catholic Youth, Young Adult, and Family Ministry. The CYM Sports Operations Coordinator will direct and oversee the complex operational and logistical strategies for the CYM Sports program and other large-scale diocesan events.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will formulate, evaluate, and finalize comprehensive seasonal schedules for sports programs, act as a primary point of contact and advisor for head coaches and parish sport coordinators, and serve as an official, on-site CYM representative at select athletic competitions and championships.

Requirements

• High School diploma, or equivalent, plus three years of experience in administering athletic activities or programs
• Demonstrated knowledge of computers and ability to use a variety of software, including Microsoft Office/365, CRMs, and email applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, patience, and the ability to maintain composure within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to manage conflict and facilitate resolution
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to travel throughout the footprint of the Diocese of Wilmington
• Ability to work evenings and weekends for events occasionally as required
• Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with confidential/sensitive materials, information and data
• Willingness to consent to a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws
• An understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington
