Role OverviewThe Activity Specialist teaches and facilitates a youth-centered class tailored to their specific expertise. The role involves preparing and developing age- and skill-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and activities that fuse the arts and academic competencies. The Specialist will work with program participants to develop their artistic, educational, and leadership potential.
What You Will Do
Main day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and developing curriculum, working with program participants, facilitating activities, and fostering a youth development, strength-based environment. The Specialist will also engage and facilitate group conversations, track and support students' academic success, and attend staff meetings.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience and/or training relevant to the position required
- Candidates with some college, experience with adolescents and teaching/coaching youth are encouraged to apply
- Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for young people
- Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
- Ability to engage youth, while setting structure and limits in a group setting
- Energetic, motivated self-starter and a team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
