Role OverviewWe are seeking a Data Engineer II to build and maintain the pipelines, models, and orchestration jobs that power Gifthealth's analytics and client reporting. This position plays a key role in supporting the Data Engineering team and the broader Analytics organization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.
What You Will Do
Build, test, and maintain production data pipelines and dbt models with limited day-to-day direction. Own delivery of scoped projects end to end, including requirements clarification, implementation, testing, documentation, and handoff.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL and Python skills, working fluency with dbt and a modern orchestrator, and the judgment to know when to solve independently and when to pull in a senior engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a closely related data role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience with Airflow or a comparable orchestrator
- Working experience with dbt and a modern cloud data warehouse
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing
- Exposure to AWS and managed ingestion tools such as Fivetran
- Ruby experience is a plus
