Requirements

  • Serve as a role model for all youth participating in the day camp program
  • Assist in providing meaningful programs for campers
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment
  • Welcome, parents and campers at all times
  • Assume equal responsibility for general housekeeping tasks
  • Attend all pre-camp training for all counseling staff, and attend all staff meetings and other activities
  • Have an understanding and follow all emergency procedures on the campsite
  • React kindly and firmly in a positive manner when disciplining children
  • Establish and maintain a positive and appropriate relationship with all coworkers
  • Document incidents and accidents by filling out an FYI for parents, and YMCA incident Report forms
