Job Description
The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundation of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Day Camp Unit Lead will be responsible for the supervision, implementation, and development of activity plans for a group of children, including assisting in their social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive development.

Requirements

  • Serve as a role model for all youth participating in the day camp program
  • Assist in providing meaningful programs for campers
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment
  • Welcome, parents and campers at all times
  • Assume equal responsibility for general housekeeping tasks
  • Attend all pre-camp training and staff meetings
  • Follow all emergency procedures and safety guidelines
  • Discipline children kindly and firmly in a positive manner
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with coworkers and the public
