Job Description
The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundation of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a Day Camp Unit Lead, you will be responsible for the supervision, implementation, and development of activity plans for a group of children.

Requirements

  • Serve as a role model for all youth participating in the day camp program
  • Assist in providing meaningful programs for campers
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment
  • Welcome, parents and campers at all times
  • Assume equal responsibility for general housekeeping tasks
  • Attend all pre-camp training and staff meetings
  • Have an understanding and follow all emergency procedures
  • React kindly and firmly in a positive manner when disciplining children
  • Establish and maintain a positive and appropriate relationship with all coworkers and program participants
