Role Overview

The Dean of Instruction (Bilingual Spanish) will manage and develop a cohort of teachers, set clear expectations and standards for excellent teaching, and ensure students receive outstanding instruction in all classrooms. The role requires a strong commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools, as well as a passion for developing resiliency through a relentless pursuit of jaw-dropping results. The Dean will work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment, juggling multiple tasks and initiatives at once, and maintaining emotional control under stress.

What You Will Do

The Dean of Instruction will manage the progress toward increased student achievement for a cohort of teachers, help teachers use assessment data to improve instruction, and ensure students are safe and supported in all classrooms. The role will also involve planning and delivering professional learning opportunities, completing a one-year credentialing track, and participating in strategic district-led professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • At least 3 years of exemplary teaching
  • A valid Texas teaching certificate or equivalent
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public School
