Job Description
We're seeking a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer to provide structural engineering services on small to mid-capital projects in the Denver, CO area. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in oil and gas, mining, and metals, or related projects, and a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with structural emphasis. A Master's degree is preferred, and a current Colorado PE license is required.

Requirements

  • Perform structural engineering design, including preparation, review, and checking of engineering calculations and design sketches for steel structures, equipment foundation, piling and concrete foundations for accuracy.
  • Support the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
  • Foster positive working relationships with external parties such as customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Participate in department/discipline functions related to quality control of deliverables, staying current with codes, standards of practice and advancing technologies related to engineering delivery and construction materials.
  • Compile data and compute material quantities related to structural disciplines.
  • Ensure discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Gather data from multiple sources and prepare engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc. Crafts recommendations and creates final documentation.
  • Determine technical issues, define, and implement innovative alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
  • Create final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.
  • Review similar documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work done peers.
