Dental Assistant I & II

Requirements

• Ability to ensure that all operatories are ready for patients prior to clinic hours/end of day
• Proficiency in 4-handed dentistry, prioritizing patient comfort
• Ability to take and process dental X-rays (with proper certification)
• Ability to perform basic lab tasks, such as pouring and trimming dental models
• Ability to take impressions of patients' teeth for study models or orthodontic appliances
• Ability to apply fluoride treatments and sealants (if qualified and permitted)
• Ability to perform coronal polishing (if qualified and permitted)
• Ability to accurately record all medical/dental findings, results and outcomes in the EHR (Epic Wisdom) in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Ability to sequence and appoint comprehensive treatment plans in Wisdom
• Ability to provide post-operative care instructions to patients
• Ability to ensure infection control by following OSHA and CDC guidelines
• Ability to schedule and confirm patient appointments in Wisdom according to effective scheduling policies
• Ability to maintain and update patient records
• Ability to assist with billing, insurance claims, and payment processing
• Ability to order and manage dental supplies and inventory
• Ability to greet and check in patients, ensuring a smooth office workflow
• Ability to ensure the delivery of all dental treatment and care is consistent with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including clinic policies and quality initiatives
