Role OverviewManage all functions of the department, including staff, to ensure the successful operation of the unit. This includes taking an active role in safety programs, performing duties in a timely manner, and maintaining a good working relationship with co-workers. The Department Head will also be responsible for achieving conception rate goals, understanding and performing proper techniques of sow monitoring, and maintaining inventories of medications and supplies.
What You Will Do
The Department Head will perform a variety of tasks, including taking responsibility for correct handling and storage of semen, understanding and demonstrating knowledge of pregnancy diagnostics, and performing equipment, facilities, grounds maintenance, and manure handling as required. They will also assist in training animals for electronic feeding systems and demonstrate correct feeding procedures.
