Role Overview

The Deputy Airfield Manager will assist in executing day-to-day Airfield Management operations in accordance with DAFMAN 13-204V2. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant airfield operations, providing technical expertise, and daily oversight of AM functions.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include managing security and controlled areas, processing airfield discrepancies, coordinating with CE to identify and mitigate obstacles, and maintaining the Airfield Lighting Chart. The role also involves participating in the FOD Prevention Committee and performing other position-related duties.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Air Force, DoD, and FAA flying directives, as well as experience managing a Military Base Operations. Good communication skills and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance are also essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Accredited Military Airfield Management school
  • USAF 7 skill level in airfield management or civilian equivalent
  • Special Experience Identifier 368
  • Advanced Airfield Manager Course
  • 3 years' experience managing a Military Base Operations
  • Knowledge of Air Force, DoD, and FAA flying directives
  • Interpretation of weather observations and forecasts
  • NOTAM system
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License
  • Pass color blindness vision test to obtain Flightline Driver's Permit
