Role Overview

Serves as a liaison between the County Court at Law Judge, County Court at Law staff, District Attorney’s Office, and other county departments and agencies. Prepares, files, and maintains all case files for the County Clerk’s Office. Responsible for receiving and filing all court documents, issuing process, and performing other duties imposed by law.

What You Will Do

Prepare and issue court documents, maintain case files, receive and file court documents, issue process, and perform other duties. Facilitate prompt and precise correspondence with Bexar County Jail, update the County’s Case Management System, and ensure proper notification of statute-mandated court documents.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must have good knowledge of criminal courtroom procedures, basic legal terminology, and alphabetic and numeric file maintenance. Ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate effectively, and accurately enter data.

Requirements

  • High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Three (3) years judicial system experience
  • Good knowledge of criminal courtroom procedures
  • Good knowledge of basic legal terminology
  • Good knowledge of alphabetic and numeric file maintenance
  • Ability to learn and navigate electronic filing systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to accurately enter data
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to operate personal computer, typewriter, and basic office equipment
