Role Overview

The Deputy Director of Human Resources will oversee all personnel matters concerning prospective, current, and former KCDA employees and support the Executive decisions that impact the workforce and workplace. The HR team executes tasks in areas including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, career counseling, training, labor relations, and data management.

What You Will Do

The prospective candidate's responsibilities include representing KCDA at various City government meetings, overseeing all recruitment processes, managing the interview and selection process, overseeing NYCAPS data entry, overseeing new requests and tasks required to properly onboard new employees, organizing onsite staff and consultation, managing job classifications, providing oversight to recruitment, benefits, onboarding and performance management areas, and facilitating meetings with varying departments and staff.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a master's degree from an accredited institution with at least ten (10) years of HR management experience, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least fifteen (15) years of HR management experience. The candidate should also have HR and EEO certifications, structured interviewing knowledge, knowledge of Civil Service laws and policies, experience interfacing with union, and knowledge of City personnel rules, policies and processes.
