Deputy Director of Security

The Deputy Director of Security will be responsible for ensuring the security of persons on agency premises, reviewing security video, and managing internal agency security related investigations. The candidate will also assist in preparing budget requests, bid solicitations, and procurement for agency security programs. Additionally, the Deputy Director will be responsible for training security staff and agency staff on visitor management, investigating workplace violence and fraud prevention measures, and ensuring the functioning of agency hand readers and finger readers.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Deputy Director of Security will include ensuring the security of persons on agency premises, reviewing security video, managing internal agency security related investigations, and training security staff and agency staff on visitor management. The candidate will also be responsible for investigating workplace violence and fraud prevention measures, and ensuring the functioning of agency hand readers and finger readers.

The candidate should also have experience in a supervisory capacity and be able to direct the formulation of agency security policies, procedures, strategies, and programs.

Requirements

• Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization
• One year of full-time satisfactory experience in the field of law enforcement, protection, or security
• Qualification to serve as a Peace Officer
• Certification as a Peace Officer
• One year of experience as a Supervising Special Officer-Assignment Level I
• Two years of experience as a Supervising Special Officer
• Two additional years of full-time experience in the field of law enforcement, protection, or security, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity
