Job Description
The Deputy Director will support and manage the Strategic Planning team’s portfolio of work, providing vision and direction for planning, outreach, and conceptual development of short-and long-term projects, policy considerations, and data management and creation. The role involves supervising junior to mid-level staff, managing planning studies, analyzing and visualizing data sets, developing outreach plans, and presenting planning initiatives to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture
  • Professional experience in urban planning, urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture with a practical understanding of pedestrian and transportation-related issues
  • Previous experience with mapping software (ArcGIS or QGIS), traffic analysis, Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD), Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft 365
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a highly collaborative environment across multiple teams
