Job Description
The NYC Department of Design and Construction is seeking a Deputy Director (Technical) to oversee an annual capital program valued at over $300 million, comprising multiple construction projects.

Requirements

  • Reviewing construction plans
  • Communicating with sponsor agencies, private utility firms, and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring contract compliance and timely consultant payments
  • Scheduling and conducting final inspections
  • Representing the borough in meetings with utility companies, city, state, and federal agencies
  • Training staff in fulfilling the team's responsibilities
  • Supporting recruitment efforts
  • Assisting the Assistant Commissioner and Director in advancing the team's objectives
  • Ensuring project closeouts are completed in a timely and consistent manner
  • Providing daily updates to the Director and Assistant Commissioner
