Role Overview

The Deputy Sheriff II-Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team (DVERT) member performs a wide range of duties concerning domestic violence investigations, including case research, evidence collection, and preparation of legal documentation. The role requires minimal supervision, irregular hours, and response to active crime scenes. The Deputy Sheriff II-DVERT member collaborates with law enforcement agencies, victim service agencies, and community groups to focus on victim/survivor safety and offender accountability.

What You Will Do

The Deputy Sheriff II-DVERT member will review law enforcement reports, determine criminal charges, and act as an information and referral resource for victims and offenders. They will also obtain and maintain photos and medical records, and conduct follow-up investigations. The role requires specialized training on domestic violence related crimes, domestic violence law, and trauma-informed interviewing.
