Role OverviewThe Detention Specialist position will earn a competitive pay of $15.05/hr. The Detention Specialist will perform functions within the Police Department, supervising and interacting with inmates, ensuring their safety and health, and providing inmate transport to court, interview rooms, and other agencies.
What You Will Do
The Detention Specialist will complete administrative work, communicate and respond to queries, perform and oversee the inventory of jail supplies and inmate property, evidence, and lost and found items, and assist in the implementation of safety procedures.

Requirements
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency
- One (1) year of related experience
- Current valid class 'C' driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to obtain NCIC/TLETS certification within six (6) months of employment
- U.S. Citizenship (certification requirement)
- Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
