Job Description
The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundation of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Detroit SWIMS Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions under Y policies and safety rules, while creating a safe and positive atmosphere for promotion of YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit member safety and engagement.

Requirements

  • At minimum, some high school level education (over 16+ years of age)
  • 1 year of experience is preferred, but not required
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard license is preferred, but not required (we offer certification)
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen
