Role OverviewRegistered Dietitian, Diabetes Educator, provides nutrition/education and performs duties in designated areas where their expertise will be best utilized. Responsibilities involve assisting Service Coordinator/Manager with departmental support of Registered Dietitian(s) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist(s) other departmental operations as assigned.
What You Will Do
Prepares and implements nutrition/diabetes education care plans age specific and culturally relevant in accordance with departmental policy and standards of care. Serves as resource to other health professionals in the specified area of expertise for purposes patient care delivery, and departmental continuous Quality Improvement.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and weekend call if and when assigned. Must complete required continuing education in compliance with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognized program requirements and must complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education each year.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Current licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia
- Current BLS Certification
- Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) within two (2) years of hire
- Demonstrates knowledge of age specific education principles
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, & Outlook)
