Role OverviewAs a Mechanic Apprentice at XPO, you will perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on heavy-duty diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment. You will work in a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. You will be required to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, and safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces.
What You Will Do
Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance functions, applying knowledge and work by various rules and regulations, repairing or rebuilding equipment systems, conducting safety inspections, and interacting with operations and shop management.

Requirements
- 1 year of experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair
- a technical school degree with certification in heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance
- a valid driver's license
- brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25
- vehicle inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19
- basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer and tractor maintenance
