Role OverviewJoin the Metallus team as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice, working on heavy mobile equipment, including locomotives, and continuing as a Mechanical Maintainer - Mobile Equipment after the apprenticeship. Employees are responsible for receiving work assignments, analyzing drawings, and troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, among other tasks.
What You Will Do
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, perform preventative & predictive maintenance on mobile heavy equipment, and operate heavy mobile equipment for pick-up and delivery. Work in the shop or field as required.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and 1 year of experience working as a mechanic on heavy mobile equipment or completion of a trade/vocational school on locomotive repair. Preferred experience includes 2+ years of experience or completion of a trade/vocational school.
