Role Overview

The Dietary Cook will assist in supervising dietary functions and personnel, preparing and overseeing the preparation of food, and contributing to the overall wellbeing of residents. The role requires a collaborative kitchen environment, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to special diet orders. The Dietary Cook will work closely with a diverse team to create exceptional dining experiences.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Dietary Cook include preparing and serving meals, supervising kitchen operations, receiving reports on meals, and coordinating food and supply requirements. The role also involves adhering to food production plans, planning and preparing meals in coordination with meal times, and performing additional duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma preferred, or the ability to read and write English effectively
  • Previous culinary experience is a plus
  • Proficient in preparing and cooking a variety of foods in larger quantities
  • Knowledge of special diets, seasoning requirements, cooking times, and temperature controls
  • Skilled in estimating food quantities, minimizing waste, and creating appetizing meals
