Job Description
KCTV5 is looking for a Digital Content Producer who can curate, verify, and package content across social platforms and digital products. This is a real-time curation + distribution position at the center of our digital newsroom.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
2–3+ years producing digital/social content for a newsroom, media brand, or high-velocity publisher
Strong news judgment and excellent writing/editing skills
Demonstrated ability to curate (not just create): identifying what matters, adding context, and publishing quickly
Working knowledge of social best practices (captions, hooks, thumbnails, aspect ratios, accessibility, headline discipline)
Basic photo/video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
Experience producing short-form video (vertical video editing, subtitles, beat-driven pacing)
Experience with live coverage workflows (live blogs, stream clipping, social live updates)
CMS experience and basic SEO knowledge
Working knowledge of AP Style and the ability to write clean, accurate copy under deadline
Analytics experience (Meta insights, YouTube analytics, social listening tools, Google Analytics/Chartbeat/Parse.ly, etc.)
