Role OverviewThe DIR Player works directly with children in their natural environment to implement play-based therapeutic interventions using the DIR/Floortime model. The goal is to support each child’s individual developmental needs while promoting engagement, communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth.
What You Will Do
Engage the child in individualized play sessions, foster relationships, collaborate with supervisors and family members, collect session notes, and maintain a safe environment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Prior experience working with children, particularly those with developmental differences, and strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Child Development) preferred
- Prior experience working with children, particularly those with developmental differences, strongly preferred
- Familiarity with DIR/Floortime or willingness to be trained
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
