Role Overview

The Direct Support Professional provides ongoing support to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities to ensure a high quality of life. They practice and promote the agency's mission statement and guiding principles in every interaction. The role involves providing support in areas such as self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, socialization, and overall wellbeing.

What You Will Do

The main responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional include providing ongoing guidance and support to individuals, ensuring a safe and clean home, following treatment plans, and implementing and documenting all treatment plans and other agency-related materials.

Why It Might Be a Fit

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information, and be able to physically interact with individuals, including lifting and transferring them. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
