Role OverviewProvide ongoing support to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities to ensure active participation in every aspect of their lives. Ensure a safe and clean home by providing support to individuals to assist them with household chores. Follows all treatment plans and utilizes adaptive and safety equipment to promote independence and ensure health, safety, and well-being.
What You Will Do
Provides ongoing guidance and support to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities. Provides support in areas such as self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, socialization, and overall wellbeing. Assists individuals with medication administration and prepares meals by teaching concepts such as diet adherence and cooking skills.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This position requires regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services. Must have the ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, which includes lifting and transferring of individuals.
Requirements
