Role Overview

Join a passionate team of change-makers to provide direct support to clients with disabilities and behavioral health challenges. The role involves enhancing quality of life, promoting independence, and fostering community access. Working hours are dependent upon program needs, with rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends, and overnights.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include engaging clients in daily living activities, administering medications, completing housekeeping tasks, and reporting issues related to client health. You will also implement dynamic client programming, plan community-based activities, and ensure timely completion of client paperwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • DSP certified preferred; must be able to obtain DSP certification within six months of employment
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification; must be able to obtain certification within six months of employment
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to navigate the use of public transportation system (CTA/RTA/Metra)
