Direct Support Professional

Requirements

• Ensure individuals’ medical health issues are addressed
• Assist individuals in daily activities including daily hygiene functions
• Implement behavioral goals, teaching strategies, monitoring procedures, exercise programs and other team recommended programs and procedures
• Model positive adult roles in the community
• Foster community belonging through person-centered appropriate activities
• Asks for assistance from co-workers and supervisors when unsure of job duties and refers to program policies and procedures for job clarification
• Supervises and assists in the preparation of food for individuals following special prescribed diets and food consistency
• Implements eating procedures as written, if applicable
• Overnight awake staff is required to complete hourly safety checks on the individual
• Assis individuals in community integration and improving their overall quality of life
