Role OverviewAssists with daily living activities for individuals with special needs, providing training and support in basic personal and social skills, meal planning, and other daily tasks. Works in a daytime non-residential facility or a residential facility, under supervision.
What You Will Do
Arranges medical care, assists with housecleaning, shopping, and meal preparation, provides emotional support, and assists with daily decision-making and problem-solving. Trains clients in basic housecleaning and laundry skills, assists with budgeting and bill payment, and provides transportation to appointments and activities.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires ability to observe and monitor participants' behavior, assist and supervise participants with daily living activities, develop individualized plans, and provide training and/or orientation services. Must be able to complete evaluations to determine functional level of participants.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Any combination of training and experience that would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid driver's license (for some positions)
