Job Description
Role Overview

Assists with daily living activities for individuals with special needs, providing training and support in basic personal and social skills, meal planning, and other daily tasks. Works in a daytime non-residential facility or a residential facility, under supervision.

What You Will Do

Arranges medical care, assists with housecleaning, shopping, and meal preparation, provides emotional support, and assists with daily decision-making and problem-solving. Trains clients in basic housecleaning and laundry skills, assists with budgeting and bill payment, and provides transportation to appointments and activities.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Requires ability to observe and monitor participants' behavior, assist and supervise participants with daily living activities, develop individualized plans, and provide training and/or orientation services. Must be able to complete evaluations to determine functional level of participants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Any combination of training and experience that would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Valid driver's license (for some positions)
