Job Description
Acuity is seeking a Director - Internal Audit to have oversight and overall management of the Acuity Internal Audit Department. The role evaluates the effectiveness of governance, risk management and the internal control environment at Acuity.

Requirements

  • Develop and oversee the internal audit department
  • Provide leadership and direction on internal audit engagements
  • Maintain a culture of accountability, ethics, and continuous improvement
  • Identify significant business risks and anticipate emerging risks
  • Provide informed opinions to management
  • Prepare and manage the internal audit budget
  • Document and maintain records on outstanding audit issues
  • Maintain and update the internal audit manual
  • Ensure internal audit functions at Acuity can successfully achieve and maintain a designation of ‘generally conforms’ or better
  • Create and implement a risk-based internal audit plan
  • Establish a multi-year Internal Audit Strategic Plan
  • Develop comprehensive engagement-level audit programs
  • Work as a team leader for the department
  • Recommend co-sourcing or out-sourcing where audits for areas where specialized expertise is required
  • Report to senior management and the Audit Committees
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders
  • Meet with the Officer and Board Audit Committees
  • Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and examiners
  • Establish and maintain a quality assurance and improvement program
  • Lead the execution of internal audit engagements
  • Recruit, train, mentor and manage internal auditors
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
