Role Overview

The Director of the School of Art is the administrative and academic leader of the School, responsible for supervising all its interests and activities, and reporting to the Dean of the College. The Director will bring their own areas of expertise, which may include, but not be limited to, art history, art education, games and animation, curatorial studies, or contemporary art theory and practice.

What You Will Do

As academic leader, the School Director will lead academic development in all the School's disciplines, collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to build a strategic vision, and engage in teaching, research, and/or creative work. As administrative head, the Director will represent and advocate the views of the School, manage the School's administrative structure, and pursue short- and long-term objectives and academic planning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art history, art education, games and animation, curatorial studies, or contemporary art theory and practice, and experience in administration or project leadership. They will be able to build a strategic vision, collaborate with faculty and staff, and engage in teaching, research, and/or creative work.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Fine Arts, Games and Animation or a related field
  • Three (3) years of relevant administration or project leadership experience
  • PhD in Art Education, Art History or a related field
