Role Overview

The Director, Commercial IT Systems will participate with IT leadership to establish strategic plans and objectives for the Commercial organization, including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and related functions. The role combines strategic planning, technical leadership, and team leadership, and maintains the technical depth required to direct, review, and challenge the work of the team and its vendors.

What You Will Do

The Director will partner with Commercial leadership and stakeholders to anticipate business needs 12–18 months ahead, identify opportunities and risks early, and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap aligned to Commercial strategy. The role will also involve managing the IT team members, directing the technical work of the team, and owning the technical integrity of delivered solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of IT experience, including IT focused leadership roles in pharmaceutical commercial environments
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required
  • Hands-on experience leading and delivering Commercial system implementations, configurations, integrations, and data mapping
  • Proven experience directly managing IT team members and delivering projects on schedule
  • Deep operational experience across Commercial technology platforms and data capabilities
  • Experience managing project budgets, vendor relationships, and technology delivery
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with project delivery management
  • Experience in vendor and contract management
  • Ability to work effectively across US and Japan global teams
