Role OverviewThis position will function as the Environmental Health Director for the Washington County Health Department’s Environmental Health Bureau, managing and directing program managers, evaluating quality controls, and interpreting environmental health statutes and regulations.
What You Will Do
The position will manage and assist staff in achieving cross-training in the food service, well and septic, and community service programs, and collaborate with other Health Department Units within Washington County and statewide.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in biological, physical, environmental science or chemistry, and six (6) years of experience involving inspections and investigations in the field of environmental health or closely related environmental health experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in biological, physical, environmental science or chemistry
- Six (6) years of experience involving inspections and investigations in the field of environmental health or closely related environmental health experience
- Two (2) years in a supervisory capacity
