Director External Communications

As Director External Communications, you'll set the strategy for the External Communications Team, lead and develop Team Members, and provide trusted communications counsel to senior Leaders. You'll help Southwest respond with clarity, urgency, and professionalism to Customers, Employees, and stakeholders.

What You Will Do

You'll lead the External Communications Team, guide and coach Team Members, and identify opportunities to make a focused impact on the external narrative of Southwest. You'll also provide Leadership and guidance for External Team activities and programs, and collaborate with fellow Communications, Culture & Communications, and other Department Leaders.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
• Advanced level Business Acumen in functional area
• Seasoned and specialized knowledge in managing a communication, or emergency preparedness function, or related function
• Formally growing and mentoring talent, skills and abilities across a diverse team
