Director, Infrastructure

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network and systems engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Architect, implement, and optimize hybrid (cloud and on-premises) infrastructure solutions to support 5,000+ employees in a distributed, multi-business unit environment.
• Oversee multiple, complex, enterprise-grade systems and network projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with IT Security to implement and manage solutions that secure the IT environment and protect sensitive data.
• Interface with vendors and partners to evaluate, negotiate, and implement best-in-class infrastructure solutions.
• Lead the technical onboarding and integration of newly acquired firms into Alera’s standardized infrastructure model.
• Work closely with IT and business leadership to continuously improve infrastructure operations and strategy.
• Identify and champion opportunities for technology to solve business problems, improve processes, and strengthen security posture.
• Contribute to the development of the strategic infrastructure roadmap by evaluating current state, identifying capability gaps, and proposing innovative solutions.
• Create, track, and report on infrastructure KPIs and metrics, including system availability, cost, and performance.

• Associate’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in IT operations and engineering.
• 7+ years of experience managing systems and network teams in an enterprise environment.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft, Cisco, HPE Aruba, Nutanix, Palo Alto, and other leading infrastructure vendor systems.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure and AWS public clouds, including leading at least one major infrastructure transformation initiative.
• Proven experience with disaster recovery and business continuity solutions (e.g., Cohesity, Druva).
• Experience with Azure AVD, VMware Horizon, or other VDI platforms.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Experience in the insurance industry and/or with mergers and acquisitions is preferred.

The annual salary range is $160K to $190K. This role is bonus eligible.
