Role Overview

The Director of Cedarbrake Retreat Center develops, implements, and maintains a wide range of operational and public relations activities to promote the Cedarbrake Retreat Center. The position reports to the Secretariat Director for Formation and Spirituality and operates with wide latitude for the use of independent judgement, discretion, and initiative.

What You Will Do

Manage seven-days-a-week operations, programming, services, and staffing of Cedarbrake Retreat Center, promote the ministry of the center, and recruit other secular and non-secular groups to use the facilities.

The ideal candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, with a Master's degree in theology or pastoral ministry, and three years of full-time wage-earning related work experience, including supervision of volunteers or staff.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in theology or pastoral ministry from an accredited American Catholic university or equivalent in a foreign country
  • Three years of full-time wage-earning related work experience, including supervision of volunteers or staff
  • Bilingual English-Spanish proficiency (conversing, reading, and writing)
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Training in spiritual direction at a Catholic institute or place of formation preferred
  • Compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies
