Job Description
The Director of Development and Partnerships is responsible for designing, leading, and implementing Helena Area Habitat for Humanity’s fundraising and resource development strategies, with a primary focus on donor relations, business partnerships, and major gifts.
This role manages all aspects of fundraising, including annual giving, corporate sponsorships, grant funding, donor cultivation, planned giving, and capital campaigns. The Director of Development and Partnerships serves as a visible ambassador in the community, cultivating relationships that inspire philanthropic support and advance the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Key Responsibilities
* Donor Relations & Major Gifts (40%)
* Develop and implement strategies to secure major gifts.
* Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of donors and prospective donors, with emphasis on mid-level and major gift prospects.
* Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans that include measurable goals and identified target audiences.
* Partner with the Executive Director and Board members to identify and solicit major donors.
* Work closely with the Director of Communications to align key messaging.
* Maintain a comprehensive donor recognition program, ensuring timely acknowledgment and impact reporting.
* Integrate planned giving opportunities into ongoing donor cultivation.

Business Partnerships (20%)
* Identify, cultivate, and secure corporate sponsorships, employee giving programs, and business partnerships.
* Create and manage sponsorship packages for events, campaigns, and special initiatives.
* Maintain strong relationships with business partners, ensuring fulfillment of benefits and ongoing engagement.
* Represent Habitat at community and business networking events to strengthen visibility and support.
* Works closely with Volunteer Coordinator to build and sustain partnerships with organizations and businesses while ensuring all sponsorship benefits are successfully delivered.

Annual Fund & Campaigns (20%)
* Direct and support the fundraising efforts of the Board, volunteers, and staff.
* Lead planning and execution of annual giving programs, including the annual fundraising events, special donor events, direct mail, monthly giving, and online campaigns.
* Develop and implement multi-year campaign strategies to meet fundraising goals.
* Work closely with the Executive Coordinator to maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database and provide regular progress reports.

Grants & Institutional Giving (10%)
* Research and apply for grant opportunities to support operations and capital projects.
* Prepare and submit grant proposals and manage all required reporting.
* Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and deliverables.

Special Events & Community Engagement (10%)
* Work with volunteers and committees to sustain and grow community fundraising events.
* Schedule and deliver presentations to community groups, businesses, faith communities, and civic organizations.

Qualifications
* Significant demonstrated experience identifying, cultivating, soliciting, finalizing, and stewarding individual gifts, particularly major and planned gifts.
* Substantial progressive fundraising experience, with a proven track record in major gifts, donor portfolio management, and business partnerships.
* Success in securing significant contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
* Experience with donor databases (CRM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
* Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 annually
