Job Description
Director of Engineering responsible for maintaining the overall operation of the maintenance department and the appearance and working order of the hotel, with duties including reviewing contracts, requisitioning supplies, opening properties, and planning and directing activities concerned with the maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.

Requirements

  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel or building management experience (typically with Hyatt)
  • Opening hotels and previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
  • Resort experience (grounds, spa, pool etc.) required
  • Resort renovation experience preferred
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Comfortable with CAL OSHA and OSHA training
  • Strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical skills
  • Proficient in professional public area maintenance practices
  • Ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
