Director of Engineering

As a member of the properties Leadership Committee, the Director of Engineering is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership, reporting to the hotel General Manager. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall operation of the maintenance department and the appearance and working order of the hotel at Hyatt Centric Times Square New York.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include maintaining the exterior of the building, parking lot, and common areas, maintaining all equipment in guest rooms, conducting monthly safety inspections, training staff on safety and emergency procedures, and working with vendors. The Director of Engineering must be willing to respond to emergencies, work with corporate maintenance on special remodeling projects or capital expenditure needs, and oversee third-party Security team.

Requirements

• Required to possess and maintain the following New York City certifications and licenses: S13 – Citywide Standpipe System, S12 – Citywide Sprinkler System, T89 – Fire and Life Safety Director, Q99 – Refrigeration Operating Engineer, P98 – Supervision of Fuel-Oil Piping and Storage Systems
• Demonstrated experience managing engineering operations within a unionized hotel environment
• Strong knowledge of New York City building codes, fire/life safety regulations, and hotel health and safety standards
• Proven experience overseeing third-party contracted security teams and ensuring compliance with Hyatt and property security standards
