Role OverviewThe Director of Environmental Services oversees the Environmental Services operations, including maintenance, housekeeping, laundry/linen services, grounds, and contracted services. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, functional, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
What You Will Do
Direct and supervise the Environmental Services Department, recruit, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and support Environmental Services staff, maintain building and grounds, oversee boiler operations, maintain HVAC and electrical systems, develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- Seven years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in maintenance and/or Environmental Services
- Working knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry services
- Knowledge of NYS Department of Health regulations, CMS requirements, OSHA requirements, Life Safety Code, and other applicable healthcare regulations
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, service agreements, and facility projects
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize competing operational needs in an active healthcare environment
- Computer proficiency required, including email, electronic documentation, spreadsheets, reporting, and work-order or maintenance-management systems
