Role Overview

The Director of Finance manages an annual operating budget of approximately $10 million and directly oversees the Museum's financial and risk management operations. This dynamic and collaborative role formulates the Museum's financial strategy along with metrics tied to that strategy, and is actively involved in the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve organization assets and report accurate financial results.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include serving as the Museum's senior financial leader, partnering with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and Department Directors to develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational mission, operational priorities, and long-term sustainability. The Director of Finance will also lead all aspects of financial management, including accounting, finance, FP&A, treasury, investments, payroll, fixed assets, and contract oversight.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have seven to ten years of Non-Profit Accounting experience, a BS in accounting or related field, and a CPA, CMA or MBA. They will also have supervisory experience, strong analytical capabilities, and a strategic team-oriented approach.
