Job Description
The Director of Human Resources is a highly visible leadership role at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, responsible for aligning people strategies with operational and service initiatives to support the hotel's overall business objectives. The role provides strategic leadership and hands-on guidance across the full scope of the HR function, including workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing strategies, wage and salary administration, benefits programs, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. The Director will partner closely with Hyatt Corporate Human Resources to ensure alignment and consistency, and will be responsible for managing unemployment and workers' compensation claims, conducting and analyzing wage and salary surveys, and providing employee counseling and guidance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably within hospitality or a similarly complex service environment
  • Strong service-oriented leadership style with polished professional presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across diverse teams
  • Proven success in high-volume, fast-paced operations
  • Effective communicator with clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and regulatory compliance
