Job Description
The Director of Human Resources is a highly visible leadership role at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, responsible for aligning people strategies with operational and service initiatives to support the hotel's overall business objectives. The position requires a minimum of six years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably within hospitality or a similarly complex service environment.

Requirements

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with Hyatt standards and business needs
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing strategies to support hotel operations
  • Oversee wage and salary administration, benefits programs, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Support operational leaders through effective staffing, onboarding, and training initiatives
  • Conduct needs assessments and design, implement, and evaluate training and development programs
  • Advise and coach leaders on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of policies and regulatory requirements
  • Manage unemployment and workers' compensation claims in coordination with internal partners and third-party administrators
  • Conduct and analyze wage and salary surveys to support competitive compensation practices
  • Provide employee counseling and guidance when appropriate
  • Plan and coordinate associate engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications
  • Actively participate in professional HR organizations and maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices
  • Partner closely with Hyatt Corporate Human Resources to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Coach and counsel associates and leaders to uphold Hyatt service standards and values
