Role Overview

The Director of Individual Gifts will lead Vizcaya's individual giving program, driving a $25M campaign goal, and managing a personal portfolio of donors. The role involves developing growth strategies for membership programs, preparing and managing the department's expense budget, and reporting revenue performance to leadership. The Director will also oversee the creation of donor-facing assets, such as website content and newsletters.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include owning the strategy, goals, and revenue results for Vizcaya's individual giving program, carrying a personal portfolio of donors, and using membership and annual giving as entry points to identify, cultivate, and move donors along a giving pipeline.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of taking prospects through the gift cycle, experience on capital or comprehensive campaigns, and proficiency with CRM and donor database systems. The Director will also engage in and promote internal committee participation and ensure department compliance with Vizcaya policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in annual giving, membership, major gifts, or nonprofit advancement, including 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven record taking prospects through the gift cycle, from cultivation through solicitation.
  • Experience on capital or comprehensive campaign.
  • Proficiency with CRM and donor database systems.
  • Exceptional writing, relationship management, and communications skills.
