Role Overview

The Director of Nursing is responsible for coordinating Nursing Services in accordance with Tennessee State Veterans' Home Board policies and applicable state and federal laws. The role involves supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as planning, assigning, and directing work.

What You Will Do

The Director of Nursing will set resident care standards, assess and direct resident care needs, develop and implement nursing rehabilitation and restorative programs, and conduct daily resident rounds. They will also analyze Quality Indicator reports, identify concerns, and implement corrective action to improve resident care.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires a bachelor's degree in nursing, with a master's degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in nursing leadership roles, with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably with at least two years of leadership experience in Long Term Care.

Requirements

  • Current Tennessee Nursing license as a Registered Professional Nurse in good standing
  • Proven experience in nursing leadership roles, with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience
