Job Description
Woodstock Institute is seeking a Director of Policy & Advocacy to lead its policy advocacy and government relations work at the local, state, and national levels. The Director will supervise the Advocacy Associate, collaborate with the Director of Applied Research, and develop and disseminate the organization's policy positions. The role involves leading policy/advocacy initiatives, coordinating lobbying meetings, drafting fact sheets and policy briefs, and building relationships with community organizations and policymakers. Travel to Springfield, IL, and Washington, D.C. is necessary. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, urban planning, economics, or related field
  • At least five years' experience in policy advocacy, government relations, and state or national coalitions
  • Familiarity with financial justice issues
  • Ability to work effectively and independently under pressure
  • Collaborative mindset and creativity
  • Excellent written and spoken English language communications skills
  • Strong commitment to economic and social justice issues
