Role OverviewThe Director of Sales and Events will lead a talented team at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, a distinctive destination resort nestled between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande. The role will play a critical part in shaping the resort's commercial success while fostering an inclusive, people-focused culture. The Director will oversee the Sales, Event Sales, Event Planning, and Conference Services functions, developing and executing business plans, ownership presentations, and commercial strategy to achieve revenue goals and increase market share performance.
What You Will Do
The Director of Sales and Events will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and event plans, leading all group sales, event sales, conference services, and catering revenue initiatives, establishing and achieving sales goals across various segments, and conducting regular reviews, forecasting meetings, pipeline analysis, and account reviews.

Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of progressive hotel Sales, Event Sales, Event Planning, Catering, or Conference Services experience
- Minimum 3 years in a senior or assistant leadership role within a hotel or resort sales and events environment
- Demonstrated experience leading sales, event planning, conference services, and banquet operations teams
- Proven ability to achieve revenue goals and drive market share growth in a full-service hotel or resort environment
- Strong knowledge of sales strategy, event operations, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
- Professional presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Innovative thinker who challenges business processes and concepts to drive results
- Creative and strategic approach to marketing, advertising, and demand generation initiatives
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, administrative, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Comfortable utilizing sales, event management, CRM, and revenue management systems
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as business needs require
