Job Description
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau's mission is to protect, promote and improve the health and well-being of all women, newborns, children and adolescents in Maryland. The position will serve as a cross-cutting leader throughout the Bureau, providing consultation to all Bureau’s programs as well as providing direct oversight of the MCHB Office of Assessment and Evaluation (OAE), which focuses on population health epidemiological evaluation and MCH assessment and surveillance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Maternal and Child Health, or related field, from an accredited college or university, with strong knowledge in program evaluation and data analysis.
  • Five (5) or more years of leadership experience in public health, particularly in maternal and child health programs, policy development, and federal grant management (e.g., Title V, SSDI).
  • Proven expertise in data management, surveillance, and program evaluation, with experience developing logic models, evaluation plans, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills, with experience overseeing multi-million-dollar programs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders including internal teams, external partners, and public health agencies.
  • Strategic planning and decision-making abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage complex public health initiatives and respond to emerging issues.
