Role OverviewThe Director of Vehicle Maintenance will oversee all vehicle maintenance activities for the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), ensuring the operational preparedness of buses necessary for meeting COTA's transit service commitments. The Director will work closely with Vehicle Engineering to develop Standard Operating Procedures, key performance indicators, and other processes to achieve defined quality service standards.
What You Will Do
The Director will direct and oversee all vehicle maintenance operations and activities, develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and monitor and evaluate fleet reliability and effectiveness. They will also oversee technical studies to enhance engineering design, vehicle performance, and parts longevity.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, automotive, electronics, public administration, business administration, transportation, or related fields
- Ten (10) years of experience in transportation maintenance or related fields, with 7 years of experience in managing a complex maintenance department
- ASE certification preferred
- Managerial experience in a union environment is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
